"What Do You Do All Day?"
"What do you do all day?"
My favorite and least favorite question. It’s also the question I am asked the most so I figured it was time to break down my routine over the last 7 months.
Let’s get it out of the way first, it’s my least favorite question because some days…weeks…I am lazy, and no one likes to admit that. Example, I binge watched all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls in 3 months, plus watched the revival episodes. And let me tell you, those Gilmore girls are not meant to be binged, a weekly dose of them is plenty. Multiple episodes a day and you grow to hate their banter and repetitive drama. Why did I keep watching? Because why not…
So laziness aside, what have I been doing? My usual: cook, workout, walk my dog, meet new people. I am also doing social media marketing for an architectural firm in Minneapolis, and now this blog. But the majority of my time is spent traveling! This island is amazing. And since it’s relatively small, about the size of Maine, weekend trips all around the country are doable. And who’s been planning our adventures? Me! Mathew works during the week so I usually spend the week researching and planning our next weekend trip.
A couple of our weekend ‘trips’ have been right where we live. We live in Wexford Town in County Wexford, or just Wexford. It’s all really confusing, “Where do you live?”
“Wexford Town or County Wexford?”
“I live in Wexford Town and County…but Wexford Town.” If I didn’t live in Wexford Town I would say the town where I did live. Why would I ever say the county only? I live in Carver County, um no, I’d say Chanhassen!
Anyway, Wexford, Ireland is my definition of an underrated Irish town. I had never even heard of it before I moved here. But there is so much to explore here! The Town Centre has nice local shops, Richie Doyle's butcher, Meyler's fishmongers, pubs - The Sky & The Ground is our favorite, and delicious local restaurants - I can't decide between Westgate and Stable Diet for my favorite. And in County Wexford you’ll find castles, Europe's oldest operating lighthouse, the beach, and parks. It really is a wonderful part of Ireland that we’re able to explore and call home for now.
To actually see Wexford Town, County Wexford, and my daily life I filmed the following vlog! This place is so beautiful even in the winter, but in the summer, oh man the green is so intense I might have to film another Wexford vlog in July.
Thanks for reading! Time for me to sign off and start planning our weekend trip to Waterford. Cheers to you and your next adventure. Get out and explore!
